Friday night saw the 2nd night of Raintown’s 'Run With The Night Tour' at The Ironworks Venue in Inverness. The crowd included a visit from Forever British Country, facebook page member Tony Peter Mendes who had travelled up from London as part of his gig following escapades.

Dim the house lights, cue the music and the stage lighting as one by one the 4 musicians appeared on stage to take up their instruments and, after a short musical reprise, enter stage left Paul and Claire who, once on stage, had us captivated right to the end of the night. The energy and enjoyment of performing from all 6 on stage just shows their commitment to the sharing of LIVE music after a late night of travel back from Thurso the previous night.

For all of you that know how Raintown work and perform, you will understand that you might see them a few times during their tour and their setlist changes quite often depending on how the band feel. That is why I never copy or print a setlist. There has been a new single released which is the title of the tour “Run With The Night “ This song was introduced late last year and was included in the bands set at The Best Of British night at the BCMA awards weekend and got a tremendous reception from the crowd.

During their set they have introduced a few new songs and have tweaked a couple of their regular tracks and although they might be small tweaks you can hear the great effect these have. There was also an old song reintroduced into the set in Inverness.

As the tour is still ongoing I’m not going to dwell on the song titles, Hopefully many of you will be able to catch up with Raintown somewhere on their travels which include Newcastle tonight 22/4/18, then Hull on the 23rd, with Liverpool on the 24th, and completing this run at Oran Mor in Glasgow on Saturday 28th. The band then head back out on tour with Jessica Lynn starting on June 11th for 3 nights starting with London, Birmingham and Manchester.

During the set Paul and Claire spoke about how a few of the songs came to be and showed great credit for their fellow co-writers, some with very sentimental stories attached. After a few songs in their encore, a fantastic night of music came to an end with Paul and Claire then coming out front to meet the audience and sign any merch purchased on the night. The merch included new tour titled T-Shirts and posters along with CDs and a single cd with the new track 'Run With The Night'.
