Jack Browning Announces New Single ‘The Family Guns’

On the cusp of a major breakthrough moment, on-the-rise British country artist Jack Browning releases his impressive new single ‘The Family Guns’ on July 28th across streaming platforms - the track will follow the official music video premiere on July 31st.

At just 25, Jack is an old soul in terms of sonic influences with his inspirations coming from the likes of Neil Young, John Prine, Tom Petty, Tom Waits and Bruce Springsteen and it is that maturity that shines through in his own soundscape-making him one of the most intriguing creatives coming up in the ranks right now.

And with the upcoming single ‘The Family Guns’, Jack Browning further puts the spotlight on his introspective writing style and perfectly builds on the success of his debut solo record ‘Red Eye Radio’ which touched on themes of touring and mental health.

The new track is a fascinating two-part song that draws on his inspirations in cinema, and fantastic composers such as Ennio Morricone while the latter half of the release is a murder ballad, complete with mariachi trumpet and once more, that lyrical steel which Pat Lyons puts down so brilliantly.

Speaking about the track, Jack Browning says: “The Family Guns is a love letter to the Spaghetti-Western and the long tradition of murder ballads in folk, country and blues music. When I was writing the song, I was wondering what these classic movies and stories would sound like if they were recorded now. Could I create a soundtrack, more than just a song?”
