First Thoughts Review: 'The River' by Megan Dhalai

Released on 3rd April 2020

My first thoughts about this emotional ballad are how very beautiful it is. The simplistic musical arrangement blending lapsteel, intricate guitar picking and a haunting vocal with its folk inspired harmonies works so well together. There is no need for percussion. In this instance, less is more. In 'The River' she is declaring her love for that special someone.
