First Thoughts Review: 'Old Souls' by The Orange Circus

My First Thoughts Review

Released on 6th March 'Old Souls' is a new single from The Orange Circus' upcoming album Whistle in the Dawn which is due out in May. It starts off with just 2 harmonising vocals and the occasional strum of the guitar which gently invites the listener in before the song really gets going at a jaunty pace, with fiddles, banjo picking and multiple layers of folk inspired harmonies. I like the way the instrumental part of the song lets fiddle, banjo then guitar all take a turn at a solo.

'Old Souls' is available to download on all digital platforms. Add it to your music library today.

About The Band

The Orange Circus Band are a Celtic-Americana band based in the UK, with roots in Wales, Cornwall, England and Virginia. Despite having a hand in traditional roots music, they produce a wholly unique, contemporary sound.

The Orange Circus Band is an almighty, unabashed force of nature. Raw, fiery and stirring, their sound travelling from their origins in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Brit folk and beyond, they sit somewhere between Old Crow Medicine Show and The Lumineers.

“I first heard The Orange Circus Band via Roger Daltrey who sent me an email saying, ‘I think you’ll love them, Bob’. He was absolutely right” – Bob Harris OBE, BBC Radio 2
