I love a stripped back acoustic EP. It feels much more intimate than that full band sound somehow.
Donna has the most beautiful tone to her voice which 'Run' shows off to perfection. It tells of someone looking for love and reassurance whilst battling the pitfalls of everyday life slowing her down. Do you ever have those dreams where the bad guys are chasing you fast and you are only able to run in slow motion. Well this song puts me in mind of that but she is not running away from someone she is trying to run too someone.
'Just words' is a really pretty song with beautiful guitar picking throughout and a lilting melody. It is softly sung which make it sound like she is tentatively asking for forgiveness from someone that she loves.
'On The Road' tells the story of driving home alone after gigs in the early hours of the morning and the only company you have is the radio. I have to say that this is my favourite song of Donna Marie's. The tone of the guitar is gorgeous.
'Pity Party is about a relationship that goes sour. This song is almost acapella with just subtle guitar in the beginning and some clicks of the fingers. It does build to a slightly bigger acoustic sound towards the end.
'Broken Love' is about the break-up of a relationship but not wanting to let it go. This song has a pretty melody to go with beautiful guitar picking throughout. They compliment each other perfectly.
This is a really lovely EP. One of those you put on at the end of a busy day, open a bottle of wine and unwind too and I recommend you do just that.

Singer/songwriter and producer Donna Marie (Songs) releases ACOUSTIC SESSIONS Volume 2 following the success of Her latest single 'ON THE ROAD’ which is featured Spotify ‘VERY NEARLY NASHVILLE’ playlist with over 15,000 plays.
This Acoustic EP features five stripped back songs including ‘ON THE ROAD’ & ‘BROKEN LOVE’, all recorded at in Donna’s home studio.
Donna has a string of solo shows including MILLPORT COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL on the MAVERICK MAGAZINE stage & has been invited to support THE HALEY SISTERS. Donna is also touring with hit show ‘A Country Night in Nashville’ to sell out theatres across the UK.
