This track tells of a dark period in this girl's life, a broken down relationship, but there is a glimmer of hope and Paul is the 'getaway' car. Paul explains about the emotional blackmail used which is very powerful and likens the girls current life to a 'prison without bars'.
Paul goes on to explain with a much more positive outlook that this girl can have a much better life by breaking free from her toxic relationship. He encourages her to able to speak with people who can help her.
I found the lyrics really powerful in this song, brilliantly written and I'm sure there will be many women AND men who can empathsise with these lyrics as well.
