Review: 'Wrong Again' (You Lose A Life) By Ags Connolly

Ags Connolly is well known in country circles throughout the UK. He tells amazing stories through is songs, and the tone to his voice is simply superb. No wonder his is considered the top traditional style singer songwriter in the country.

A great combination of fiddle with pedal steel gives this song a traditional sounding vibe that transports my mind directly to the American mid west and a traditional wedding reception held in an apple orchard with couples dancing together and having a great time. There is a long table laid with a check tablecloth with a picnic laid on it with jugs of homemade lemonade and an apple pie in the centre. That is the picture this song conjures up for me and that is before I have really listened to the lyrics.

The story behind the song is of a girl who has been unlucky in love a fair few times and she hopes that this time it will be different. A very relatable song to so many of us.

If this one song is anything to go by then the full album will be fantastic. 'Wrong Again' (You Lose Your Life) has already been featured on BBC Music Introducing In Oxford
