Review: Megan O'Neill - Rootless

Megan O'Neill, is a singer songwriter from Ireland who has been described as 'one of the rising stars' within the UK Country Music Scene. 2019 has consisted of touring with Sir Tom Jones, performing as the lead female vocalist in a new project with Universal Music & performing on he main stage at The British Country Music Festival.

"Seriously fresh mix of modern country and pop, with a fusion of distinctly Irish elements"

Timeout Magazine, London.

The brand new single 'Rootless' is a tasteful, authentic and relatable acoustic number filled with emotive lyrical content. The first thing that strikes me, is the way that I feel when I listen to this song. The verses express a need to leave and find a new place to grow - an inability to find a reason to stay and how it is time to allow life to take you where you need to be. Personally, I interpret this to mean that we can trust to be in put in the right place at the right time.

The chorus that follows is uplifting and powerful, showcasing the purity in Megan's vocals. 'I'm not lost, not erased...i'm rootless'. There's almost a sense of desperation and need in the way that she presents the song to the listener.

If you have not heard this song yet... you need to!
