One Trick Pony are a Northern-bred, London-based Country Duo composed of Georgia Lennon and Michael Pickering. They have a mutual love of Country Music, and struck this affinity whilst working together professionally; they have been friends ever since! Their connection, evident within their music, is something very special and unique to the duo.
'Old School' is One Trick Pony's first single of 2021 following last year's success of their debut single, 'You're That Face' which they released alongside their Christmas single, 'Always Home', reaching Numbers 6 and 7 on the iTunes charts, respectively. 'Old School' has a very fitting 'Old School' country kind of feeling to the song which can only be described as captivating. One Trick Pony's latest release was written together by Michael and Georgia, and was once again produced by Tim Prottey-Jones (previously of The Wandering Hearts) who recently won Belles and Gals' Best UK Musician. What Michael and Georgia have to say about the single: "The concept of our latest single started with the beauty of old school love; the picture of an old man sat on a park bench, reading a love letter from his wife. Moments which seem to have sadly disappeared within society today. We wanted to write something that reflected these missing pieces of nostalgia, potentially even acting as a reminder of that old school love, interlinked with the exciting moments of new age love as we know it today.
Although you can envision the above-mentioned scenario that formed the foundations of 'Old School', we always set out to make our music universal to each and every listener. There's definitely something in this single for everyone, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we've loved creating it.
