‘Spending time with those you love has never felt more important’
Stuart Rolfe & Becky Lawrence team up to release ‘I Need You’ by Tim McGraw & Faith Hill
Stuart Rolfe has always found himself drawn to the music industry. His motivation and hard-work paid off in 2016 where he successfully auditioned for Country2Country and worked as a session musician for Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert and the Pistol Annies, to name a few.
This led to him working with BMLG and Sony Nashville UK as a session guitarist and it was during this time that he met Gareth Nugent. Gareth gave Stuart the encouragement to stand up and be noticed which led to the recording of his EP during lockdown of 2020.

Taking to the front of the stage after 20 years of hiding in the shadows was frightening, until he met the fantastic Becky Lawrence. The encouragement gained from her knowledge and love of music has given Stuart the tools to strive forward. Becky has been working as Stuart’s vocal coach for the past year and when she mentioned that they should work together on writing a song or covering an already-popular song and so, this project was born!
Stuart came to Becky with ‘I Need You’ by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Written by David Lee and Tony Lane, and made famous by the duo, the double Grammy award-nominated track is a ballad where two lovers describe what their love means to each other and how much they really need each other. When talking to Stuart & Becky about their feelings on the song, they say:
“For us personally, it represents how people need each other, not necessarily in a romantic sense. After what we’ve all been through the past year or so, spending time with those you love has never felt more important”.
The duet was recorded and produced at NAM Studios, Trowbridge by multi-instrumentalist and producer Tyler Spicer. “Tyler’s constant strive of perfection and professionalism, the music has never sounded better. Tyler manages to glue everything together in such a way I have never seen before.” [Stuart Rolfe].
