News: Ben Selleck to release debut single 'Different Sides'

Ben Selleck is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Essex. Vocally inspired by the soul legends of yesterday, Al Green and Marvin Gaye and lyrically inspired by the the likes of The Eagles, James Taylor, and Brothers Osborne, Ben has always had a love of music however, lockdown has rekindled his love of songwriting, specifically within the country music scene.

“The country genre has always been close to my heart and the UK scene, particularly during this pandemic, has inspired me creatively like never before. It led me to write an album worth of simple songs that tell stories about my life in ways I could never have portrayed as a younger man.”

Ben has been a music teacher since 2009, a job that he is incredibly proud of and enthusiastic about however, his goal is to build a solo career and release timeless music that will hopefully take him musical venture on the road.

The debut single ‘Different Sides’ was recorded remotely, with Ben on Keys and lead vocals, and accompanied by a supreme cast of other musicians: Ben Rudge on drums, Amy Hamilton on backing vocals and guitars by Adam Wright (who also mixed and mastered the single).

“I’m unbelievably excited to be releasing my debut single, and hope that the energy in this track gives listeners the perfect platform to introduce people to more of my music”

“The track is an unashamedly timeless country romp, with soulful vocals & stones-esque guitar. Lyrically, the song retells the age-old analogy that Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus, in a time when lockdown can magnify these differences infinitely.”

Pre-order now. Release: May 28th 2021.
