What really stands out to me instantly is the beautiful tone of the guitar. The instrumentation is minimal giving 'Pity Party' an acoustic, stripped back feel although it isn't an acoustic song.
Donna's lyrics tell of a relationship that is ending because although she loves him she is tired of his games and infidelity. He doesn't think she will have the strength to go it alone but she will prove him wrong.
