First Thoughts Review: A Selection Of Songs For A New Album By Saskia

Updated: Feb 14

Saskia sent me 3 of 7 new songs which will appear on her 'Hometown Ghost Town' Album to be released later this month. It was recorded in Nashville in December and the first thing that struck me on listening to this collection of songs was the stunning tone to Saskia's voice and the crystal clear vocals.

'Hometown Ghost Town' takes me to the emerald isle as it has a very Irish sounding fiddle. Its a lovely mid tempo song that makes you want to get up and dance.

'Why Ask Why' is quite a rocky number. The vocal performance seems determined. Its like she wants to get the message in the song across. She wants a fun night out with her friends and doesn't need any unwanted attention from men. No means no which is quite a taboo subject for a song lyric.

The song 'Headlights' has more of a country pop feel to it which is very different from the previous 2 songs. Its another toe tapper that definitely lifts your mood when you hear it.

Quite a varied collection so I am thinking that the album will have wide appeal as there will be something for everyone.
