We saw Eric Walker perform at Country On The Coast in Southsea and thought we would send him this interview. Here is what he had to say.....
Q - How long have you been writing and performing country music?
A - 2 and a half years
Q - If you could invite the people who have influenced you in your music career to a dinner party, who would you invite?
A - I would invite Luke Bryan, Vance Joy and Carrie Underwood; if I had the opportunity
Q - If you were to take one well known song and put your own country twist on it, which song would you choose?
A - A song I actually already do my own twist on is Bulletproof by La Roux - this one always goes down well
Q - If you had the chance of performing anywhere in the world, Where would your dream venue be?
A - I would love to perform at the Wembley Arena - such a fantastic venue
Q - What excites you about the British country scene?
A - What I love, is that the British Country Scene is so widely appreciated in USA and the rest of Europe; we really are producing amazing music
Q - The British country music scene is growing fast. Each artist having their own take on what country music is to them. How do feel that our music stands up against the music coming out of America at the moment?
A - As the Americans are enjoying what we are doing, I would say that we stand up very well; we also bend the country music stereotypes
Q - Where do you see British country music in 5 years time?
A - I think that the British Country scene will continue to grow and I can see it becoming more mainstream.
Q - Do you think you will be more accepted in 5 years, when you say you are a British country music artist?
A - I think I will be just as accepted as I am now
