Video Review - 'When I See You' by Danny McMahon

This is our first ever video review so here goes.....
Filmed by Background Noise Productions, this video is centred around the relationship between a boy and his grandfather.
Having seen 'When I See You' performed at songwriter rounds, I know a little of the story behind this incredible song and video. It celebrates the life of grandfather Harold Evans. Country singer Danny McMahon was asked to record it by a friend who wrote it about his own grandfather and it went straight to #1 in the iTunes Country Chart.
Filmed on a chilly winters day by a very picturesque pond (as seen in the photograph) Danny is alone with his thoughts and his guitar. The filming starts in the morning rain, chases the sunlight across the afternoon and ends just before the sunset. The light gently fading in the sky. It echoes the precious childhood memories, Danny's childhood memories that are interspersed throughout. Reflecting on time spent with his own grandfather. Days out at the sea side and family get togethers'. A little glimpse at family life that brings back very happy memories of my own childhood and how much my grandfather meant to me. I imagine it will be the same for all those watching.
A very nice thought provoking video which illustrates the song perfectly. You will be able to view it on YouTube from 26th April.
