These evenings are always a pleasure to attend. This one was no exception.
Kicking off proceedings this evening is Amit Dattani. I had heard of him but never heard his music or seen him perform. He picked that guitar with finger plectrums. So different than anything I have heard. I really enjoyed it. I love the fact that our scene is so diverse.
Up next, Danny McMahon. This guy is very quickly making a name for himself. Nominations, awards, number ones and he is a thoroughly nice guy. Great songs and a great voice. What is not to like.
Resident act The Emma Swindells Band is back after a break of a couple of months. I have missed them. They were a trio tonight. Emma, Clare and Danny performed a really nice set. Beautiful harmonies as always. I think it must be quite hard to be a resident band, but these guys always seem to come up with something new and interesting.
